Study Program

The Faculty of Dentistry provides an exceptional and distinctive study program that spans over the period of five years of undergraduate studies divided into 10 semesters.

This must be followed by one-year clinical (internship) for obtaining a professional license for dental practice in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Based on the ECTS credit point system, the academic year is divided as follows:

  • Winter semester
  • Spring semester
  • Summer semester (optional)

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)* - Credit Points (CP) is the credit system used at the Faculty of Dentistry at GUC.

The Academic Degree

Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree
(بكالوريوس في طب وجراحة الفم والاسنان).

*Note: The ECTS-CP is a tool that helps to design, describe, and deliver programs and award higher education qualifications. The use of ECTS, in conjunction with outcomes-based qualifications frameworks, makes programs and qualifications more transparent and facilitates the recognition of qualifications across borders.
